SA: Governments can't save Mitsubishi - SA Minister

The South Australian government says governments are powerless to ensure the survival
of Mitsubishi's Australian operations.

Mitsubishi Motors Corp's German partner DaimlerChrysler has said it will stop further
financial support for the Japanese company.

That's cast fresh doubt over the future of the South Australian operations.

SA Industry Minister KEVIN FOLEY says there is little the SA and federal governments can do.

He says Premier MIKE RANN and Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD have sought meetings with
senior management of DaimlerChrysler, but been refused.
