THE AUSTRALIAN FINANCIAL REVIEW:

Page 1: Former AWB chairman Trevor Flugge is one of six former senior executives with
the organisation facing civil charges put by the Australian Securities and Investments
Commission pertaining to the Iraq oil-for-food program; Aspiring federal opposition leader
Malcolm Turnbull may have his dreams of securing the coalition's top job dashed as he
faces joint civil action worth some $529 million from HIH liquidators.

Page 3: Despite a likely interest rate rise in February Australia is set for continued
economic growth fuelled by the tight jobs market and tax cuts.

World: Poor housing and building data out of the US suggest the ailing sub-prime market
will continue to struggle well into 2008.

Markets: The sharemarket posted its sixth successive loss yesterday closing down 20.5
points, or 0.33 per cent to 6216.4 points, stretching its overall loss over the past week
to 7.13 per cent.
